Pursue Your Goals
Sometimes, when we reach a certain age, we feel it’s the right time to pursue those goals and passion that had taken the backseat when life took over. Like being an entrepreneur and having your very own empire. Being a fempreneur has its challenges and may not always be the first path, a struggling and terrified creative female entrepreneur would always choose to traverse.
We have to consider the capital and expenses in starting up a new business. So we opt to take the easier path instead and be a wide-eyed newly hired employee who depends solely on the two dates that matter the most – payday. Money isn’t the only hurdle that one has to cross when entering the world of entrepreneurship.
Don’t Doubt Yourself
This bold action needs the courage of a hundred soldiers facing a thousand enemies. You have to have that commitment that whatever bumps along the way, you will work your way around it and continue rather than give up. It is easy to give up and accept defeat when we are backed in a corner and stressed out. You will begin to question whether you were cut out for this and doubt yourself. Maybe the degree tucked under your belt is not what you need to back you up on your plan?
…or maybe the degree is not an item to consider.
Perhaps you bit off more than you can chew? When your thoughts are beginning to sound like these, STOP. Breathe and take a moment. No matter what your background may be – a degree or the absence of it, strive hard for your passion. But do not mistake passion as the magic ingredient for you to succeed. You have to have that magical combination of passion, commitment, and dedication.
Doing something new will require you to learn, but keep in mind that learning is a continuous cycle. Having a business means sharpening that mind of yours to think of attainable and sustainable ways to succeed in your chosen trade. Set a realistic target and then think of ways to achieve it. Settle at achieving it first and then work on how to outdo it. Do not be stagnant, and do not settle for the status quo. Always aim for more and dream bigger.
